绝热性能好是岩棉制品的基本特性,在常温条件下（25℃左右）它们的热导率通常在0.03～0.047W/(moK)之间。

岩棉制品的燃烧性能取决于其中可燃性粘接剂的多少。岩棉本身属无机质硅酸盐纤维，不可燃，在加工成制品的过程中，有时要加入有机粘结剂或添加物，这些对制品的燃烧性能会产生一定的影响。
The combustion performance of rock wool products depends on the amount of combustible adhesives. Rockwool itself belongs to inorganic silicate fibers, which are non-flammable.
